Inwild Linea  - Yellow 2026

Having revolutionised telemark binding design with the excellent Meidjo binding, for 2026 Inwild introduce the Linea alpine touring binding. A lightweight "tech" insert binding, at first glance the Linea does not appear to be very different from other "efficient" category touring bindings. Unlike the Meidjo, which was completely different to previous bindings, the advantages of the Linea are less obvious, but no less important in two areas - toe unit step-in and release, and the binding's carbon footprint.

Inwild have studied the release mechanisms of all brands of touring bindings, how they release under load, how much pre-release and flexibility they have. This research has enabled Inwild to design a patented toe unit with optimal characteristics providing both extremely easy step-in and reliable lateral release at the required DIN setting, making these bindings one of the safest touring bindings available.

Inwild was born with the desire to produce bindings with the lowest possible carbon footprint and they have done everything possible to minimise the amount of energy and raw materials necessary to produce the Linea.
The main aluminium parts are forged, with minimal waste and a significant reduction in environmental impact compared to the CNC milled components used by many brands which can result in up to 75% material wastage,
25% of the parts of the Linea are made from biosourced polyamide incorporating recycled carbon fibre. Inwild have studied the environmental imapct of each stage of the manufacturing process and this integration of eco-design has enabled them to divide greenhouse gas emissions by 4, so that the carbon footprint of a pair of Linea bindings with ski brakes is just 11.85 kg of CO² (Life Cycle Assessment to ISO 14040 standard).

The Linea bindings are made in the French alps and are fully repairable and upgradable - future-proofed to ensure many years of reliable use. The design and industrialisation of the Linea binding benefited from the support of the French Environment and Energy Management Agency (ADEME) for eco-design, with experts from the Eco-design Cluster and the RevalueSystems agency providing assistance throughout the various phases of the project. They supported the project team in integrating the eco-design approach and optimising the technical choices made in terms of materials, manufacturing processes and design to ensure the durability and upgradability of the binding. This approach illustrates Inwild's commitment to offering ski bindings that are as environmentally friendly as possible, while guaranteeing optimum performance, safety and ease of use.

The Linea is available with or without ski brakes. Ski crampons that attach vertically - easier than the traditional lateral sliding design - are available in 90, 100 and 110 mm widths.

We tested the Linea last spring and were impressed. Very convenient step-in and easy to use heel units for the uphill, good control and feedback during the descent, everything you need in a modern lightweight touring binding. To top it all, the Linea is by far the most environmentally friendly binding available, with a carbon footprint well below all other bindings.
